Signs of spring are appearing and before you know it it will be time to re-locate your swimsuit and sunglasses for summer´s first festival. Are you ready?

Kevin James from faraway Australia will be blessing us with his presence.  He composes his own sacred chants that touch the heart and soul of those who have the opportunity to sing with him. Gayatri will be introducing Somatic Yoga and workshops.

Jelena is travelling from northen Norway to share with us the art of the hula hoop.Jelena has discovered an esoteric component to this movement form and I am excited to be able to find out more about this. She is a master fire-dancer and invites us to witness a top class performance.

Dana and Mariel are returning to Öland to share both song and dance with us. Dana´s Open Heart Choir is well known and well-loved in several cities in Sweden.

This year we are adding an extra opportunity for yoga in the afternoon. We also are squeezing in more space in our Space of Love program so our participants will have time to walk softly, breathe deeply and listen to the birds sing.

Markus Berg from Sweden/Bali will be entertaining us with his vedic reggae, great to have you back Markus! Concerts, disco, open stage, campfires at the beach and drumming in the light of the moon will keep us moving in the evenings.

Raw foods/superfoods was a popular addition last year and we have promised to make that a tradition. Last years teacher Shanti opened a raw foods restaurant in Bali and can´t make it to Böda. This years teacher will soon be revealed. The bakery will be serving their wonderful ecological breakfast buffe. Robert and Heidi will be mixing up delicious and nutrituos superfood smoothies and Håkan will be busy composing delicious vegetarian dinners for us in the camping restaurant.

And lots of new and old friends to enjoy in the sunshine. Summer will be here before you know it!

The sun was shining most of the time in tune with the Sun Solitudes, dance, music, workshops and an atmosphere full of friendship and love. Yes, how can it get better than that? Akasha och Dinmali

Writing this there is a week left until the festival is on. I long for friends, the beach, yoga, workshops and lots of dance and music. I´d like to tell a bit about what the first day the 2 of June looks like:

At 12.00 the Festival-reception opens so you can get your festivalband and the ones who wants to can help putting up the Dome, what we didn´t have time for the day before.

13.30-15.00 is the first workshop.

15.30 there is an Opening ceremony to set the energies and intention for the festival.

17.30-19.00 there is Yoga.

20.30 we meet in the Celebration Hall (the gymnastic hall) for a Welcome ceremony with music, dance and meetings. The workshopleaders will introduce themselves. Then we disco-dance as long as we like!

The next day some will go up for Sadhana on the beach in the sunset. Don´t forget to bring your winterhat, gloves, scarf and warm clothes because the early morning is really cold! Also don´t forget your bikini, swimmingshorts and sunblock too. We are not to swim naked, the other campingguests don´t like us doing that.

I think that if we together create a Space of Love during the festival – a place where love, friendship, nature and harmony prevails – for sure the world will be a greater place to live in then – at least I think so!

Spring has arrived and I am sitting in the garden wondering what the birdies are so enthusiastically chirping about. I understand their excitement, spring is hands down my favorite season with all its miraculous growth and the promise it holds.
And this year’s festival is promising to be extraordinary. We have a lot of variety of workshops in order to appeal to all kinds of people.
The addition of Vedic art brought by Ann Karina Vesterberg provides the possibility for a new medium and color; visual art with spiritual origin. The non-cooking class with Shanti Allen gives us a taste of a lighter lifestyle.
Wonderful to have My Södergren join us and share Access Consciousness with us.  Statements like “we are the creators of our reality” become more real for us as we learn the techniques and gain the knowledge that she shares.
We’ve added some spice with salsa teacher Micaela Banega  who will show us how to get the sparks flying. Peter Norrthon will tell us about permaculture and how we can design our gardens/farms in a productive way that lets mother nature in all her diverse forms do the work while we orchestrate the unfolding and then reap the harvests.

Danelle Harvey, a professional musician from the U.K. will come to entertain us with passionate original acoustic music.   Read about her on the “teachers” page and your heart will be touched.

This year we´ll have a new location in the form of a Dome built in a sacred pattern of triangels to enhance the energy in the space – see the photo of Mattis and the Dome.

Do try to register before May 1 so you can take advantage of the early bird price. Make sure you write your name where it says “meddelande” so that we will be ready for you when you come.

Sweden is covered in white snow and a new year just started. The sky is gray and I dream myself away into the summer…

This year the Festival comes early in June. It starts on Thursday the 2nd of June which is a holiday on the Swedish calendar. Many are also free on Friday and the Monday after that weekend is the Swedish National Day which also is a a holiday. Because of this we hope that many are free from schools and work these days and can come from the start of the festival. Then it continues on until the 15th of June for everybody that can and likes to stay.

This year the price of the festival is lower! We also have an early bird price for those who are good at planning ahead. Read more under Fee.

Under Teachers you can read about both yoga teachers, workshop leaders and musicians. Great that Sky comes again this year to give his popular yoga-classes! And Zoe who is leading both yoga, workshops and sessions in Reconnective Healing. Exciting to have Shanti Allen to give us practical workshops in making Raw Food. Mikael Khei will treat us with workshops in Taketina which has to do with rhythms.  From My Södergren we´ll learn about Access Consciousness and much much more.  Lots of amazing teachers will come to guide us through body, soul and spirit this summer!

And of course sun, sea and dancing…

We were more than 200 people gathering and co-creating the newborn Space of Love festival . A feeling of peace and generosity seemed to glow around the festival for the two weeks. Böda is known to be one of the sunniest places in Sweden and after the first cloudy days the sun warmed us inside out and some of us took the opportunity to swim in the ocean.

Planning for the Space of Love festival 2011 has already begun and many have contributed ideas for its manifestation. We are thankful for all this creative input and we will do our best to make next years festival even greater.

The 7-20th of June 2010 at Öland

The festival is a gathering at the Kyrketorp Camping on the northeastern coast of Öland.
As the yoga festival created by Harnam has been canceled this year we invite everyone to enjoy this Space of Love festival instead. Everyone who paid the festival fee in advance is invited to attend  for free although we ask you all to request for your money back from Harnam since the money has not been transferred to Space of Love. Please bring your receipt. Everyone else is also very welcome, read more details on fees under the tag beside.

At this festival we will offer several opportunities for yoga every day as well as heart-dance and a variety of other workshops during the days or just hanging together on the grass or the beautiful beach. In the nights there will be singing, dancing and performances in the gym. Weather permitting we will also have campfires at the beach singing to guitar and drums.

Bring really warm clothes for the evenings for they can be cold. It might be hard to imagine in the daytime but a warm winter cap is nice to wear at night when we are outside. Bring extra warm (winter) clothes if you are camping to stay well and cozy.

A great organic buffet breakfast is available at the bakery called Kaffestugan i Böda which is located right next to the campground.

Lunch and dinner will be served at the Camping restaurant . Vegetarian meals are always available.

Opening Ceremony is on Monday the 7th at 19.00!
