The Space of Love Festival
Here we celebrate the summer and meet both new and old friends. We try new paths to get to know ourselves, each other, and how we can live in ever more beauty on our planet. We are blessed with varied nature—forest, meadows, sea and a white sandy beach, sunrise, birdsong, and often a clear blue sky. Here we all have the opportunity to relax and land, go deep, and allow our hearts to open.

We find new connections and new doors to open. Space of Love—the space of love that we create within and around ourselves—we take with us home when we leave the festival.
Every year we put together a program with different kinds of healing movement, music, dance, meditation, gong baths, self-development, tantra, singing, laughter, and much more.
The festival is for the whole family. Children can take part in children’s workshops or simply play in the child-friendly environment.
The festival is held at Böda Sand Camping, which has Sweden’s longest sandy beach, so sunbathing and swimming in the sea are a wonderful part of the festival experience. The campsite is full of possibilities for all ages. There you can stay simply in a tent, or in style in a luxury cabin, enjoy the beach, the beautiful nature, the restaurant, the bakery, the pool, mini golf, regular golf, playgrounds for the children, spa and sauna—something for everyone.
Workshops
At the festival you can choose between different workshops several times a day. There is a wide range of classes, including singing and voice, meditation, qi gong, sound healing, tantra, shamanic work, drumming, meditation, family constellations, dance, and more.

On the beach you will find a sauna where you can sit and look out at the sea’s waves while you warm up.
This year, as in previous years, many of our favorite teachers will be back, as well as some new ones. Click on “teachers” to see who is coming and what they have to offer. The list will be filled in during the spring.
Music
Music is of course an important ingredient in Space of Love. We have singing and voice workshops as well as “bhajans”. Like yoga, bhajans also originate in India and are often short, repetitive songs with a spiritual theme that are sung together. The evening program may consist of singing around the campfire, open stage, or concerts. Over the years we have had many amazing artists and bands who have gotten everyone up on their feet.

The festival has its roots in the yoga festival that Harnam Singh (1950–2013) started after becoming sober with the support of his devotion to kundalini yoga.
Out of gratitude to Harnam Singh, and out of respect and love for everyone who may have walked a similar path, we do not use alcohol or drugs on the festival grounds.
Yoga
The first activity of the day starts at 04:00 with yoga at sunrise on the beach. The official name for this is Sadhana, and it includes singing and meditation. This tradition has been part of the festival since the beginning, when in 2000 Harnam Singh celebrated his 50th birthday by traveling alone to Böda beach. His experience of sadhana on the beach was so powerful that he decided to invite his friends the following year. The festival was born then, in 2001, and has continued in the same spirit ever since.

We continue with yoga at several times during the day, offering kundalini but also many other kinds of yoga. It can be yin yoga, hatha, satyananda, restorative, acroyoga, holistic yoga, yoga for women, and more.
Gong baths have proven to be very popular. They can be a component of yoga and involve lying down while skilled gong players create vibrations that have an enjoyable and healing effect on the body.
Children’s and youth activities

Space of Love has developed into an annual milestone for many families with children who return year after year to give both children and parents a wonderful start to the summer. Here, the children meet friends in a yogic atmosphere. Every morning starts with a morning circle where we meet each other and the day’s activities are presented. After that the children’s group begins, where we get to know each other and have fun. Yoga play can include exercises to discover the breath as a life tool, to actively listen outward and inward, to build self-esteem and confidence, improve coordination, balance, memory, concentration, patience, cooperation, setting and understanding boundaries, sharing and expressing oneself, etc. On some afternoons you can practice circus skills. In the circus school you can learn to walk a tightrope, juggle, do magic, balance on a ball, or spin plates on sticks. Activities for youths over 12 will be shaped on site according to the group’s needs and wishes. Some adult workshops are also family-friendly. For the youngest children, childcare can be booked during the different workshop sessions.

The festival’s first day, 30 May, begins with an opening ceremony outdoors at 15:30, followed by evening yoga at 17:00 and a welcome ceremony at 20:30. On the last day we have a closing ceremony that ends before lunch, and if needed we will adapt to the bus departure time.

Space of Love Photo Policy
It is always fun to have photos that you can look at and share with others during and after the festival. It is also a good way to spread the experience to people who are not on site, so they can get a glimpse of the magic that arises at Space of Love every year. And with the photos we can attract others so that Space of Love can live on.
Don’t want to be in photos? If you don’t want to be in pictures: stay to the right of the teacher / to the right side of the activity, and the photographer will avoid photographing that side. You should never have to feel uncomfortable—the pictures are about capturing love, community and flow, and being able to share the memory of this together, not about putting someone in the center who doesn’t want to.
If you still see a photo of yourself that you don’t want to be on Instagram or Facebook, just let us know and we will remove it! It also works perfectly to talk to the photographer in advance and say that you don’t want to be in photos, and the photographer will avoid photographing you.
If, on the other hand, you would like to be tagged in the photos so you can share them further, just talk to our photographer and we will of course arrange it.
Children’s policy
If you have children in the children’s group, please let us know at drop-off if you do not want your children to be in photos. Together we will sort this out!
